Arkansans are suffering and dying from COVID-19, and we need all the help we can get. So why did lawmakers walk away from $7 million in federal money to boost testing and contact tracing for our most vulnerable citizens?
Accepting the money is a no-brainer. Medical experts say we need it. The governor says we need it. And yet, our lawmakers voted to adjourn last week's meeting without even considering it. They headed home for the weekend and left the money sitting on the table.
Arkansas needs these federal dollars working for us today so we can end suffering and save lives in our Latinx and Marshallese communities.
Tell our legislators to get back to Little Rock for a vote ASAP.
